Badges everywhere
As my good friend Dumbledore says above badges are
truly everywhere. This week as I was doing my research for my community norms
paper, I realized that Facebook also uses badges. It gives you badges if you
post many times in a week, if you are a superfan of the page or group. I never
noticed this because I don’t normally post things in groups, but for the
purpose of the project I decided to post and ask more questions and that’s when
the badges started to appear. Even though Facebook uses badges only as a
motivational trick, it still gives you a boost of endorphins that the Facebook algorithm
recognizes your participation.
Did anyone else noticed that?
PS: I made the changes of the picture myself 😀

I didn't notice badges on Facebook so far! It seems like you're recognizing some dynamics/elements there!
ReplyDeleteI LOVED the picture, of course! You're making me laugh soooo bad!
Yes I didn't noticed it either until I saw little icons next to my name and turns out there are badges.
DeleteI noticed that on Facebook as well and was really surprised. There are also badges on LinkedIn. Me, the anti-badger, noticed them 😎 https://www.linkedin.com/pulse/4-things-you-should-know-badges-online-learning-james-johnson/
